Welcome to Happy Tails

Happy Tails was founded as a charity organisation in the late autumn of 2008.

We are politically and religiously uncommitted, dedicated to helping animals in Romania, a country where animals in actual fact have no status and no rights whatsoever.

Happy Tails wish to involve as many people as possible in the process of raising the status of animals in Romania. We strive to do this first and foremost on location - by education and spaying and neutering campaigns. To improve standards at horse and dog shelters in Romania
is also something we aim for, as they are in rather poor condition.

Members decide by voting at an annual meeting what plans and projects are to be supported the coming year. The board of Happy Tails carries out the decisions taken at that meeting.
We aim for openness and teamwork between all members, the board and the people in charge of various projects in Romania.

The funds of Happy Tails are based on donations, personal and company sponsors and our "sponsor a dog scheme". No one on the board of Happy Tails makes a profit. All is voluntary work.
All donations are carefully accounted for; who the beneficiaries are, for what purpose the money is sent and to whom the money is paid out.
We wish for all members to have full insight in the finances of our organisation - the same openness as in all other matters.
Happy Tails has of course an accountant who reviews accounts.

We hope that by teamwork and a positive approach we will be able to see Romania change into a country where its capital city is no longer referred to as "the city of strays"- but a country transforming into a place for all creatures to live in...
